A call to action for Italy’s Biodiversity

Italy has the highest biodiversity in the whole of Europe with more than 58,000 different species, around a third of all of the continent’s fauna.

5000 of these are found nowhere else on Earth including unique mammals, amphibians, lizards, birds, and insects. They are all endemic to Italy.

Much of Italy’s native wildlife has never been documented on camera before. But due to habitat loss and climate change its wild inhabitants are under threat

These species may be lost before they have even had the chance to be known

Endemica will be the first landmark feature documentary dedicated to Italy’s endemic wildlife

Project co-developed with Off the Fence Productions between 2020 and 2024.
